Mindful parenting involves adopting an attitude of acceptance and compassion in parenting and being sensitive and responsive to their needs. This study aims to translate, adapt and analyze the psychometric properties of The Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting Scale (IM-P) Spanish version of in Mexican mothers. The procedure suggested for the cultural adaptation and validation of health questionnaires was followed. First, a pilot test was conducted in a sample of 39 mothers with a preschool child. Subsequently, we analyzed the psychometric properties and convergent validation in a sample of 352 mothers with a preschool child living in Mexico. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) of the Spanish version retained five dimensions that explained 55.6% of the variance. Using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) the goodness-of-fit indices of the proposed model were acceptable (CFI = .916; GFI = .908; AGFI = .882, CMIN/DF = 2.031, SRMS = 0.052 and RMSEA = 0.054). Internal consistency was acceptable, Cronbach's alpha of .86. The IM-P scale Spanish version in Mexican mothers has 21 items which showed acceptable reliability and convergent validity.
