This study presents a preliminary evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS-S) in Colombian university students. It is an instrumental study with a quantitative design, conducted with a sample of 214 undergraduate students. An exploratory factor analysis identified two main factors: one related to psychological aspects and another to social characteristics of positive mental health. Results indicate that 12 out of the 14 original items are suitable for this population, explaining 55.2% of the variance. Moreover, Colombian university students reported average scores similar to those observed in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Chile, but with a higher proportion of low perceptions of positive mental health. This study suggests that the adjusted version of the WEMWBS-E is suitable for measuring positive mental health in Colombian university students.
