Ethics and clinical responsibility in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Colombia

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons regularly face complex personal and clinical scenarios that challenge the ethics and professionalism. As potential conflicts may arise, it is always required to recognize and to apply certain values and ethical principles to achieve a respectful and fair resolution. Based upon a core of ethical principles embedded in a legislative act, this article reflects on the exemplary behavior and commitment oral and maxillofacial surgeons must exhibit with patients, colleagues and society.
